DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 25 TO 31, 1974, AS PHILIPPINE KARTING WEEK

WHEREAS, the Automotive Dealers Association of the Philippines, the Philippine Karting Federation and the Department of Tourism have organized the First Philippine International Karting Prix to be held at Rizal Park from March 29 to 31, 1974; and

WHEREAS, the sports event, which will be participated in by twenty other nations, including current world go-karting champion Terry Fullerton of Great Britain, promises to be an international sports event with the same stature as the recently concluded First Philippine International Chess Championships, the 7th Asian Basketball Confederation Tourney and the First Asian Track and Field Championships, boosting the prestige and image of the country as a sports and tourist mecca;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from March 25 to 31, 1974, as Philippine Karting Week under the auspices of the 1st Philippine International Karting Prix.
