[ Proclamation No. 1238, February 18, 1974 ]

EXTENDING THE PERIOD GRANTED TO THE CONSUMERS UNION OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP, CONSUMERS PROTECTION AND EDUCATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN UP TO OCTOBER 31, 1974.

WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 1184 dated September 13, 1973, the consumers Union of the Philippines was authorized to conduct a national membership, consumers protection and educational fund campaign during the period from October 1, 1973 up to March 31, 1974.

WHEREAS, the Consumers Union of the Philippines which is dedicated to safeguard and protect the interest of the consumers, and to educate and inform the consuming public, as well as for scientific research and pursuits has exerted efforts to make the common man—the ultimate consumer—the focus of all benefits under our restructured society;

WHEREAS, the aforementioned membership, consumer protection and educational fund campaign will require a much longer period in order that tangible and fruitful results may be achieved;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby extend the period within which the Consumers Union of the Philippines may conduct its national membership, consumers protection and educational fund campaign up to October 31, 1974.1aшphi1
