[ Proclamation No. 1237, February 18, 1974 ]

DECLARING THE MONTHS OF MAY-JUNE 1974 AS YOUTH AND STUDENT TRAVEL MONTHS AND AUTHORIZING THE YSTAPHIL, THE COORDINATING BODY FOR STUDENT TRAVEL ACTIVITIES, TO CONDUCT A FUND DRIVE FROM MAY 1 TO DECEMBER 31. 1974, FOR ITS STUDENT TOURISM PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, domestic tourism, especially among the youth and students, is a matter of national concern and should receive the full support and cooperation of all government agencies having to do with this endeavor;

WHEREAS, in order to attain the national goals in tourism growth and development, a program has been launched between the Department of Tourism and the Student Travel Association of the Philippines to encourage youth students to tour the country through organized tours; and

WHEREAS, the Youth and Student Travel Association of the Philippines has been designated as the coordinating body for all youth and student travel and tourism activities under Proclamation No. 1138 dated May 8, 1973;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the months of May-June 1974 as Youth and Student Travel Months and authorize the Youth and Student Travel Association of the Philippines (YSTAPHIL) to conduct a fund drive from May 1 to December 31, 1974, to enable it to realize its student tourism projects.
