DECLARING THE LAST WEEK OF NOVEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc., holds its annual convention in the last week of November for the purpose of increasing the dissemination of technical knowledge by providing interchange of information and ideas among the technical men of the food industry, the proprietors of cottage-scale industries, food producers, and the scientists and technologists of local research institutions with the end in view of promoting the continued growth and development of food processing activities in the country; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to focus public attention on the important role the food technology profession is playing in the promotion of the proper processing, handling and utilization of foods;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last week of November of every year as Food Science and Technology Week under the auspices of the Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc.1aшphi1
