DECLARING SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1973, AS JAIME C. DE VEYRA DAY IN THE ISLAND OF LEYTE.

WHEREAS, Sunday, November 4, 1973, marks the birth centenary of Jaime C. de Veyra, patriot, scholar, statesman, journalist, and historian; and

WHEREAS, there is a need for the citizenry, particularly the Leyteños, to pause from their daily activities and to ponder on the life of Jaime C. de Veyra and his contribution to Philippine scholarship;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Sunday, November 4, 1973, as Jaime C. de Veyra Day in the Island of Leyte.
