[ Proclamation No. 1177, August 17, 1973 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND DRIVE FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 1973, TO AUGUST 31, 1974.

WHEREAS, the right to good health of every Filipino is guaranteed in the new Constitution and is a primordial objective of the New Society;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Medical Association is engaged in various medical aid projects such as the MARIA, SAN JUAN, DOCTOR-TO-DOCTORLESS, medical indigency and information service; and

WHEREAS, the Association needs the support and cooperation of the public to enable it to carry out its projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Medical Association to conduct a fund drive from September 1, 1973, to August 31, 1974, for its medical aid projects.

I call upon all government officials, military personnel, private and public school authorities and students, and all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of nationality or creed, to support and give generously of their means.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
