[ Proclamation No. 1174, August 8, 1973 ]

AUTHORIZING THE WRESTLING ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND DRIVE FROM AUGUST 1, 1973, TO JULY 31, 1974.

WHEREAS, the Wrestling Association of the Philippines (WAP) is a regular member of the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation and the Federation Internationale de Lutte Amateur;

WHEREAS, the WAP has commitments to officially represent the Philippines in several forthcoming international sports tournaments;

WHEREAS, the WAP has launched a nationwide educational and membership program for the promotion and development of wrestling as a wholesome Olympic sport; and

WHEREAS, the WAP, after years of thorough planning, is now prepared to undertake the construction of a National Research and Training Center for Wrestling in Tagaytay City;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Wrestling Association of the Philippines to conduct a national, educational, membership and fund drive from August 1, 1973, to July 31, 1974.
