[ Proclamation No. 1167, July 23, 1973 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JULY 24, 1973, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PHILIPPINES

WHEREAS, pursuant to existing Presidential Decrees, a nation-wide referendum for all the Barangays has been scheduled to be held on July 24, 1973 and July 27, 1973;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that our people be given the fullest opportunity to participate in these referendum;

WHEREAS, July 27, 1973 has been declared as a special public holiday;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and pursuant to Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, July 24, 1973, as a special public holiday throughout the country.1aшphi1
