[ Proclamation No. 1166, July 20, 1973 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JULY 24, 1973, AS A SPECIAL REGISTRATION DAY

WHEREAS, many qualified citizens, including detainees, throughout the country have been unable to register for the forthcoming referendum on July 27, 1973, pursuant to Presidential Decrees Nos. 210 and 211 both dated June 8, 1973; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that they be given all opportunity to exercise their right as citizens in the aforesaid referendum which will decide certain vital issues to our country and people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, July 24, 1973, as a special registration day for those who have not yet registered, including detainees.
