[ Proclamation No. 1165, July 18, 1973 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, JULY 27, 1973, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, Friday, July 27, 1973, has been set for the holding of a national referendum to decide on certain issues involving the affairs of Government; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to give the people full opportunity to reflect and vote on the vital questions to be decided on said day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, July 27, 1973, as a special public holiday. I hereby enjoin all citizens of this country to go out on this referendum day and vote on the questions to be presented to them in connection with the administration of our Government.
