AUTHORIZING THE NARCOTICS FOUNDATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1973 TO JUNE 30, 1974

WHEREAS, it is the abiding concern of the Government as well as of civic-minded citizens and the more fortunate sectors of society to fight the menace of drug addiction so as to preserve the health and welfare of our youth, the future mainstay of the Philippines; and

WHEREAS, the Narcotics Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. a private, non-profit organization dedicated to supplement the effort of the Government in the treatment, rehabilitation and after-care services of drug addicts, who are mostly school boys and girls in the prime of their youth, needs public support;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Narcotics Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., to conduct a nationwide educational, membership and fund drive during the period from July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1974. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously and participate actively in this drive and thus help in the rekindling of the hopes and aspirations of the youth, who, due to drug addiction are being deprived of the opportunities to play their role in our society as useful citizens.1aшphi1
