DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 20 TO 26, 1973, AS SMALL INDUSTRIES WEEK

WHEREAS, small industries development is a promising tool towards industrial modernization and growth;

WHEREAS, the development of small industries as a vital employment-generating economic sector is one of the major concerns of this Administration;

WHEREAS, there has been insufficient attention given to the active contribution of small industries to the country’s economic development; and

WHEREAS, there is need to focus public attention to the benefits to be gained by helping existing small industries to modernize and by stimulating the growth of new, modern small industries;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines do hereby declare the period from May 20 to 26, 1973 as Small Industries Week.1aшphi1
