DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 29 TO MAY 5, 1973, AS “SECRETARIES WEEK”

WHEREAS, our country is in a stage of economic growth today that to sustain and hasten such growth would require the productive efforts of all segments of our society;

WHEREAS, the career women in commerce and industry—a great number of whom are secretaries—constitute one such segment who can augment our collective endeavors toward attaining business progress and industrial development; and

WHEREAS, it would be well then to apprise our people of the role that secretaries play in nation-building; for their professional activities do much to facilitate communications and accelerate transactions in Philippines business.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim the period from April 29 to May 5, 1975, as “Secretaries Week” in acknowledgement of the contributions of the secretarial profession as well as to inspire these career women to achieve more for the business community and, ultimately, for the New Society.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
