[ Proclamation No. 1110, February 15, 1973 ]

DECLARING FEBRUARY 15 OF EVERY YEAR AS “WORKING YOUTH DAY.”

WHEREAS, the youth constitute a substantial proportion of the labor force contributing to the social and economic development of the country;

WHEREAS, recent events have undoubtedly manifested the significant role of this sector of the citizenry in their desire for a change under the New Society; and

WHEREAS, in order to increase interest and understanding among the people for the welfare of working youth, and to help the latter become able and self-respecting workers of their own accord;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare February 15 of every year as “Working Youth Day.” I urge all citizens and residents of this country, as well as all associations and organizations, to celebrate this day appropriately in recognition of the contribution of the working youth to nation-building.1aшphi1

I authorize the Bureau of Women and Minors of the Department of Labor to take the initiative and assume active leadership in the celebration of “Working Youth Day” every year.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
