[ Proclamation No. 1089, November 4, 1972 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1972, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF LANAO DEL SUR AND SULU AND IN THE CITIES OF BASILAN, MARAWI AND ILIGAN.

In connection with the Muslim Feast of Ed-It-Fitr, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, November 7, 1972, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Sulu, and in the cities of Basilan, Marawi and Iligan.

Muslim officials and employees of the government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above mentioned, shall be exempted from duty during this feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations.
