[ Proclamation No. 926, October 19, 1971 ]

DECLARING SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1971, AS AN INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY.

WHEREAS, October 24 of every year has been declared United Nations Day under Proclamation No. 138, s. 1949;

WHEREAS, the Philippines finds it desirable to declare United Nations Day this year as an International Holiday for an increased awareness and appreciation of the purposes, objectives and significant accomplishments of the world organization;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare October 24, 1971, as an international holiday.
