DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 1 TO 7 OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL MUSEUM WEEK.

WHEREAS, the cultural heritage of a nation is one of the foundations of nation-building and, to a great extent, gives direction to the shaping of national destiny;

WHEREAS, the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino people, depicting their aspirations for unity in diversity, deserves preservation; and

WHEREAS, there is need for arousing national consciousness of, and pride in our rich culture and national identity, expressed in all media of art and culture, historical and religious artifacts;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period October l to 7 of every year as National Museum Week, and designate the National Museum as the government agency to take charge of its national observance.1aшphi1
