DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 1971, AS a SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA.

WHEREAS, Thursday, June 24, 1971, marks the 400th anniversary of the formal organization of the City of Manila as a Christian capital city; and

WHEREAS, the residents of the City should be afforded the opportunity to properly and fully celebrate this historical event with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, June 24, 1971, as a special public holiday in the Greater Manila Area.
