DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 11 TO 17 OF EVERY YEAR AS “BLOOD DONORS’ WEEK.”
WHEREAS, the Philippine National Red Cross Blood Program has contributed much to the promotion of general health, the mitigation of human suffering and the saving of human lives; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that a week be set aside during which we may dedicate our noblest thoughts and manifest our appreciation to the thousands of blood donors throughout the country who, by sharing part of their life in order that others may live, for the mainstay of the Blood Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 11 to 17 of every year as Blood Donors’ Week. I call upon all people to turn their thoughts on the thousand of blood donors in the country whose unselfishness and charity must be acknowledged with gratitude and to follow their exemplary service to humanity.
