DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 1971, AS a SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY.
WHEREAS, Tuesday, June 1, 1971, marks the opening of the 1971 Constitutional Convention; and
WHEREAS, the people should be given the opportunity to ponder upon the importance of the historic undertaking and to think out and propose to their respective delegates much-needed reforms in the social, economic and political structure;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 1, 1971, as a special public holiday.
