[ Proclamation No. 848, May 6, 1971 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, MAY 7, 1971, AS a SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF LANAO DEL SUR AND SULU AND IN THE CITIES OF BASILAN, MARAWI AND ILIGAN.

In connection with the Muslim Feast of “Mauluddin-Nabi”, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Friday, May 7, 1971, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Sulu, and in the cities of Basilan, Marawi and Iligan.

Muslim officials and employees of the government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above mentioned, shall be exempted from duty during the feast day which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as a special public holiday for said officials and employees in their respective stations.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
