DECLARING THE LAST WEEK OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS CONSUMERS’ PROTECTION WEEK.

WHEREAS, the protection of the consuming public against unreasonable price increases or fraudulent practices should be the continuing concern of the government; and

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to set aside a period during which concerted efforts for the assertion of consumers’ rights may be thoroughly discussed, planned and carried out;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last week of October of every year as Consumers Protection Week. the Department of Commerce and Industry is hereby directed to coordinate with the Consumers Federated Groups of the Philippines, Inc. and the National Federation of Women’s Clubs of the Philippines and consumers’ groups in making the celebration of the week fruitful and meaningful.
