DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH AND EVERY YEAR AS “BETTER ENVIRONMENT WEEK,” AND CREATING a COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE.

WHEREAS, the health, welfare, and general well-being of all the people are affected by the entire physical environment; and

WHEREAS, it is important to foster public consciousness about creating a better environment through the conservation, wise utilization, and development of parks, wildlife, and marine resources and wise use of our resources such as land, water and air;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the first week of March, as “Better Environment Week”, to be observed throughout the country in schools, Colleges, and Universities, with appropriate ceremonies.

The following are designated members of a committee to take charge of the national observance of the week:
