DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1971, AS “PHILIPPINE MEDICAL EDUCATION CENTENNIAL YEAR”

WHEREAS, the year 1971 marks the centenary of medical education in the Philippines; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to focus attention on the invaluable contributions that Medicine has made towards national health and progress;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from January 1 to December 31, 1971, as “Philippine Medical Education Centennial Year.”
