DECLARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 1970, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF TAGBILARAN.

WHEREAS, Thursday, October 22, 1970, marks the 28th anniversary of the Battle of Ubujan, Tagbilaran, Bohol, where a small group of Filipino guerrillas led by Captain Francisco Salazar engaged a numerically superior Japanese force, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy, and boosting the morale of the resistance forces;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, in recognition of the bravery and patriotism of the unsung heroes of the Battle of Ubujan, do hereby declare Thursday, October 22, 1970, as a Special Public Holiday in the City of Tagbilaran.1aшphi1
