DECLARING SATURDAY, JANUARY 23, 1971, AS A

SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN LEGAZPI CITY.

WHEREAS, Saturday, January 23, 1971, marks the anniversary of the battle of San Rafael Bridge, Legazpi City, where the Filipinos put up a brave and heroic resistance against invading American forces on January 23, 1900; and

WHEREAS, the people of Legazpi City should be given full opportunity to commemorate the historic event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare January 23, 1971, as a special public holiday in Legazpi City.1aшphi1
