[ Proclamation No. 743, August 25, 1970 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 11 TO 17, 1970, AS “PHILIPPINE CONSTRUCTION WEEK.”

WHEREAS, the construction industry touches the very core of our economic development program;

WHEREAS, the technical knowledge, special skills and resources of our Filipino contractors contribute greatly to the progress and the growth of the nation;

WHEREAS, it is desirable to recognize the important role the Philippine construction industry has played in our development program and in promoting national progress; and

WHEREAS, the Philippine Contractors Association, on August 17, 1970, completes 25 years of existence characterized by tremendous improvement in construction techniques and greater utilization of modern construction equipment;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby declare August 11 to 17, 1970, as “Philippine Construction Week” and enjoin all concerned to contribute to the success of the celebration of the Week.1aшphi1
