DECLARING SUNDAY, AUGUST 23, 1970, AS “CRY OF BALINTAWAK” DAY.

WHEREAS, the 23rd day of August marks the anniversary of the “Cry of Balintawak” which symbolizes our people’s defiance to foreign domination; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to ponder on the significance of the event to all freedom-loving Filipinos;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Sunday, August 23, 1970, as “Cry of Balintawak Day.”
