[ Proclamation No. 712, June 26, 1970 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 1 TO OCTOBER 31, 1970.

WHEREAS, tuberculosis continues to exact a huge toll of precious lives among our people, especially the low-income group;

WHEREAS, during the past 60 years the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. has faithfully assisted and cooperated with the Government in a nationwide effort to arrest the ravages of the White Plague and minimize human suffering amongst TB sufferers; and

WHEREAS, the Society can pursue its humanitarian services only to the extent of the moral and financial support it receives from the entire citizenry;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PONCIANO G. A. MATHAY, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc, to conduct its national educational and fund campaign during the period from August 1 to October 31, 1970.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously of their means and energy So as to intensify the fight against TB and enhance public health.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
