DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 12 TO 18, 1970, AS BLOOD DONORS’ WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine National Red Cross Blood Program has contributed much to the promotion of general health, the mitigation of human suffering and the saving of human lives; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that a week he set aside during which we may dedicate our noblest thoughts and manifest our appreciation to the thousands of blood donors throughout the country who, by sharing part of their life in order that others may live, form the mainstay of the Blood Program;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PONCIANO G. A. MATHAY, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 12 to 18, 1970, as Blood Donors’ Week. I call upon all people to turn their thoughts to the thousands of blood donors in the country whose unselfishness and charity must be acknowledged with gratitude.1aшphi1
