[ Proclamation No. 700, June 10, 1970 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 1970, AS AIR SAFETY DAY.

WHEREAS, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council, of which the Philippines is a member, celebrates “International Air Safety Day” on June 16, 1970;

WHEREAS, air safety is one of the major concerns of international civil aviation; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to enhance the image and standing of the Philippines in international civil aviation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 16, 1970, as Air Safety Day. The Civil Aeronautics Administration and other agencies concerned with aviation safety are enjoined to participate in the observance of Air Safety Day.
