MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 670, March 21, 1970 ] AUTHORIZING THE CITIZENS’ LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 1 TO AUGUST 31, 1970. WHEREAS, the Citizens’ Legal Aid Society of the Philippines (CLASP) is a civic organization committed to, among other things, the giving of free legal services to those who; on account of their meager resources, could not afford the expenses of litigation for the redress of legitimate grievances or defense of individual rights; and WHEREAS, in order to effectively carry out its noble objectives, the Society needs the financial and moral support of the public; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Citizens’ Legal Aid Society of the Philippines to conduct a nationwide fund campaign during the period from May 1 to August 31, 1970. I call upon all citizens and residents of the country, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this endeavor by giving generously of their means and to actively support the campaign. I further call upon all lawyers and bar associations of the country to assist the CLASP in its noble objectives.
