[ Proclamation No. 645, January 23, 1970 ]

AUTHORIZING THE CITIZENS’ LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 1 TO JULY 31, 1970.

WHEREAS, the Citizens’ Legal Aid Society of the Philippines is a civic organization committed to, among other things, the giving of free legal services to those who, on account of their meager resources, could not afford the expenses of litigations for the redress of legitimate grievances or defense of individual rights; and

WHEREAS, in order to effectively carry out its noble objectives, the Society needs the financial and moral support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ERNESTO M. MACEDA, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do herby authorized the Citizens’ Legal Aid Society of the Philippines to conduct a nationwide fund campaign during the period from April 1 to July 31, 1970. I call upon all citizens and residents of the country, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this endeavor by giving generously of their means .and to actively support the campaign.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
