[ Proclamation No. 643, January 22, 1970 ]

AUTHORIZING THE AMATEUR BOXING ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES TO CONDUCT A NATION-WIDE FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1 TO MARCH 31, 1970.

WHEREAS, the Amateur-Boxing Association of the Philippines is dedicated to and working for the development and upliftment of Filipino boxers;

WHEREAS, the next Asian Boxing Championships will be held in Manila in April 1970 with the Philippines as host country and the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines, in charge of preparations; and

WHEREAS, to carry on its assigned task of developing Filipino boxers who will carry on the banner of the country in this upcoming event, and to make the tournament itself a big success, the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines’ needs financial and moral support ;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ERNESTO M. MACEDA, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines to conduct a nation-wide fund campaign for the period from January 1 to March 31, 1970. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this worthy endeavor by contributing generously to the campaign.
