DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 8 TO 14, 1969, AS HISTORY WEEK AND DESIGNATING THE PHILIPPINE HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE.

WHEREAS, the week from December 8 to 14, 1941, was a period of momentous decision and historic importance and significance to the Filipino people because of their involvement in World War II; and

WHEREAS, such an important event, which proved to the world the intransigent faith of the Filipinos in democracy and the indomitable spirit, valor, gallantry and heroism of the Filipino soldier, should be commemorated to instill patriotism in the hearts of the Filipino people; of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from December 8 to 14, 1969, as History Week and designate the Philippine Historical Association to take charge of its observance.1aшphi1
