DECLARING MONDAY, JULY 21, 1969, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY
WHEREAS, Monday, July 21, 1969, marks Man’s first attempt to land on the moon;
WHEREAS, the people of the Philippines share with the rest of the world the jubilation of man’s historic achievement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, July 21, 1969, as a special public holiday in the Philippines, to enable the people to watch the historic landing of “Apollo 11” and Man’s first steps on the moon via television.
