DECLARING-A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CATBALOGAN, PROVINCE OF WESTERN SAMAR

WHEREAS, the destructive fire in the Municipality of Catbalogan, Province of Western Samar, on May 16, 1969, has caused untold suffering and rendered homeless a vast number of families, mostly from the low-income group;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section (105(v) of Republic Act No- 1937, do hereby declare that a state of calamity exists in the Municipality of Catbalogan, Province of Western Samar.

I enjoin all government and civic relief and welfare agencies and organizations to extend all possible assistance to fire victims and distressed individuals.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
