DECLARING SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 1969, AS LAPU-LAPU DAY

WHEREAS, Sunday, April 27, 1969, marks the 448th anniversary of the Battle of Mactan, the first successful Filipino armed assistance to foreign domination; and

WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactan should be remembered as the first blow struck for self-determination and a symbol of the Filipinos’ love of freedom;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Sunday, April 27, 1969, as Lapu-Lapu Day.1aшphi1
