[ Proclamation No. 540, March 24, 1969 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 19 DATED MARCH 9, 1966, WHICH DECLARED THE THIRD WEEK OF MARCH OF EVERY YEAR AS ACCOUNTING WEEK.

Proclamation No. 19 dated March 9, 1966, which declared the third week of March of every year as Accountancy Week is hereby amended to read as follows:

“WHEREAS, certified public accountants as well as government accountants, by reason of the vantage position they occupy in the field of business, finance, industry, and in’ the government have contributed immensely to the progress of the national economy; and

“WHEREAS, it is desirable that important role played by accountants in the development of the national economy be brought to the attention of the people;

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 16 to 22, 1969, and the third week of March of every year hereafter as Accountancy Week under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines, Inc.1aшphi1
