[ Proclamation No. 536, March 15, 1969 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 1969, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE AND CITY OF ILOILO.

WHEREAS, Tuesday, March 18, 1969, marks the 24th anniversary of the landing of American Liberation forces in the Island of Panay at Tigbauan Beach, Iloilo;

WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 369 dated March 18, 1968, said event was declared as “Liberation Day” for the Island of Panay; and

WHEREAS, the people of the province and city of Iloilo, the place of the first beachhead, should be given full opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested upon me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, March 18, 1969, as a special public holiday in the province and city of Iloilo.1aшphi1
