[ Proclamation No. 531, March 10, 1969 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE BADMINTON ASSOCIATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1 TO AUGUST 31, 1969.

WHEREAS, badminton is one of the oldest known and popular sports in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the Filipino badminton players in numerous competitions in foreign countries have won and excelled in this sport to the honor and glory of our country;

WHEREAS, a group of civic-spirited citizens and residents of the Philippines has organized and duly incorporated an athlete, non-profit organization known as the Philippine, Badminton Association, Inc., whose objective is to promote and improve badminton as a sport for the development of physical education and fitness and the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Badminton Association, Inc., in affiliate of the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation, is conducting a fund campaign in order to reach the goal of ₱500,000 to continue its worthy cause of building a permanent gymnasium, to carry out its meritorious and noble objective and to host the 5th International School Boys and Girls Championships in August 1969; and

WHEREAS, the implementation of the above objective need the fullest support and sympathetic involvement of all citizens and residents of the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Badminton Association, Inc., to conduct a national fund campaign during the period from March 1 to August 31, 1969. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality of creed, to give generously of their means so that we may substantially assist our badminton players to enable them to continuously bring glory and honor to our country and people. I authorize government officials and employees, particularly treasure of provincial, city and municipal government, as well as public and private school officials, to accept fund-raising responsibilities for the Philippine Badminton Associations, Inc.
