AUTHORIZING THE SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGE PHILIPPINES, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1 TO MAY 31, 1969.

WHEREAS, the SOS Children’s Village Philippines, Inc., is a civic and non-profit organization engaged in a program of amelioration by providing food, clothing, shelter, medical attention and education to orphaned, abandoned or otherwise homeless children, as well as those born of destitute or incompetent parents, many of whom may constitute burden or menace to society if not taken care of; and

WHEREAS, the meritorious mission of this Organization deserves the continued support of every civic-spirited citizen and resident of the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the SOS Children’s Village Philippines, Inc., to conduct its second national educational, membership and fund campaign during the period from March 1 to May 31, 1969. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously of their means so that we may substantially assist in the bringing up of these unfortunate children.
