[ Proclamation No. 499, December 19, 1968 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20 AND 21, 1968 AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN THE PROVINCES OF COTABATO, LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR AND SULU, AND IN THE CITIES OF BASILAN, COTABATO, ILIGAN AND MARAWI.

In connection with the celebration of the Feast of Hariraya, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21, 1968, respectively, as special public holidays in the provinces of Cotabato, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Sulu, and in the cities of Basilan, Cotabato, Iligan and Marawi.

Muslim, officials and employees of the government, both national and local, performing their duties and functions outside of the provinces and cities above stated, shall be exempted from duty during these days which, for purposes of this proclamation, shall be considered as special public holidays for said officials and employees in their respective stations.
