DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY WEEK AND AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE OBSERVANCE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the promotion and development of commerce and industry is the key to the economic growth and well-being of our country; and

WHEREAS, in order to fully develop a consciousness among our people of the role of commerce and industry in nation building, it is necessary to set aside a period for the observance of the public.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby designate the first week of December of every year as Commerce and Industry Week. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality and creed, to observe this occasion. I authorize the Department of Commerce and Industry to take charge of the observance of Commerce and Industry Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
