[ Proclamation No. 439, August 1, 1968 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1968 AS THE PERIOD FOR NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES.

WHEREAS the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, has for more than 28 years instilled in the minds of the youth, the ideals of service to God, country and humanity through its program of character-building and citizenship training for Filipino girls.

WHEREAS, the Girl Scout movement continues to be the best training ground for girls for active participation in home, community and world affairs and a deterrent to juvenile delinquency; and

WHEREAS, the national organization, in order to continue and expand its projects and activities and to maintain its high standard of word, needs funds to implement its policies and programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, I FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund drive during the period from November 15 to December 31, 1968. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist wholeheartedly in this campaign and to give generally of their means so that the Girl Scouts of the Philippines may be assured to adequate funds with which to carry on its work.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippine to be affixed.
