[ Proclamation No. 434, July 25, 1968 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 19 TO OCTOBER 31, 1963.

WHEREAS, the prevention and control of tuberculosis, the lading single disease killer among Filipinos today, is essential to the improvement of public health and a requisite to hastening the social uplift and economic progress of the masses;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. has actively cooperated with the National Government in minimizing TB mortality and morbidity rates in the country and in lessening human misery from this disease; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative for the Society to continue performing its humanitarian services, ay the same time improve its program;

NOW, THEREFORE, I FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. to conduct its national educational and fund campaign during the period from August 19 to October 31, 1968.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of not nationality or creed, to give generously of their means so that we may protect ourselves and our children from a dreadful disease. I authorize all school officials, to participate actively in this charitable endeavor by landing it their utmost support and cooperation.1aшphi1
