[ Proclamation No. 383, April 18, 1968 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1 TO AUGUST 15, 1968, FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES.

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines has far more than three decades carried on successfully the task of citizenship training and character building of the country’s youth;

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines now counts with more than 500,000 Scouts and Scouters, which makes it one of the leading Boy Scout Associations in the world;

WHEREAS, this tremendous endeavor of continuing the efforts of attracting more youth and adults to the fold of the Scouting Movement for a better tomorrow requires the sustained and continuous support of the populace in the country; and

WHEREAS, the annual fund campaign of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines will once again afford us the opportunity of supporting such a worthy cause;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate the period from July 1 to August 15, 1968, for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines to conduct its 1968 National Fund Campaign to raise the necessary funds for its projects. I urge all citizens and residents to extend all the necessary assistance and support in order that it may be able to continue with its noble undertaking of training the country’s youth for good and participating citizenship.
