DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 20 TO 28 OF EVERY YEAR AS ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS WEEK.
WHEREAS, electronics has penetrated and manifested its effects in almost all fields of human endeavor;
WHEREAS, electronics has been invaluable in alerting the general public to national calamities such as typhoons and earthquakes by providing information and instructions on precautions to take;
WHEREAS, electronics provides the country with reliable, fast, and accurate information through broadcast and TV stations and communication stations on import national issues; and
WHEREAS, it is timely to focus attention on the invaluable contribution of electronics and telecommunications to social and economic progress;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 22 to 28 of every year as “Electronics and Telecommunications Week”. I call on all sectors to extend every possible assistance and cooperation in making the celebration of the week a success.
