DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1968 TO MARCH 1969 AS SAVINGS AND THRIFT YEAR.

WHEREAS, the nation’s economic development hinges to a large extend on domestic investments and savings of the masses; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative to call on the people’s responsibility of participating actively in the country’s economic development int eh maximum degree possible through the practice of thrift and investment in public and private economic development projects as a matter of patriotic and civic duty;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from March 1968 to March 1969 as Savings and Thrift Year, initiated by the Kapisanan ng mga Kawani ng Pamahalaan, Inc., and under the auspices also of the Central Bank of the Philippines and other public and private sectors involved.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
