[ Proclamation No. 341, February 10, 1968 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 11 TO 17, 1968 AS BLIND AND OTHER HANDICAPPED WEEK.

WHEREAS, the vocational training rehabilitation and placement of the blind and other handicapped persons is the concern of the State; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable that public attention be drawn to the importance of making blind and handicapped persons more useful member of society through government initiative and community participation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from February 11 to 17, 1963, as Blind and Other Handicapped Week under the auspices of the Social Welfare Administration and other entities concerned. I call upon all our countrymen to turn their thoughts to our blind and handicapped citizens and to extend their full cooperation and support to programs and projects for their rehabilitation.
